So your formula sayy my 220 watts should handle four 6 volt batteries. They are coming down in price so I might add another 100 watts for the not so sunny days.Crofthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17634815881045387152noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5414957110325310952.post-91060011864857508502017-04-20T10:39:48.135-07:002017-04-20T10:39:48.135-07:00Most RV Solar Experts will tell you One 12 volt (t...Most RV Solar Experts will tell you One 12 volt (two 6 Volt) batteries per One Hundred Watts of Solar Panels. That all works great as long as you have sun. With shorter Daylight hours in the Winter we'll be adding more Panels and Batteries. That will pick up the Morning and Evening Sun as well as adding Storage Capacity.
To Balance the weight trying adding them to the other side of the RV and run longer cables to join them.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

It's about time.Rick and Kathy Rousseauhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05187734210342762674noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5414957110325310952.post-56477189586620143732017-04-16T07:50:58.670-07:002017-04-16T07:50:58.670-07:00Unfortunately, batteries develop a "memory&qu...Unfortunately, batteries develop a "memory" and do perform better if they are stressed a little. You might find six volt batteries perform a bit better although storage can be a problem as they are taller. I want to experiment with LED's as well but have been waiting for prices to drop. Thanks for the comment.Crofthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17634815881045387152noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5414957110325310952.post-22512493927538643692017-04-16T07:46:28.121-07:002017-04-16T07:46:28.121-07:00Thanks Paul, Norma did not see them when she looke...Thanks Paul, Norma did not see them when she looked at the site map.
Crofthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17634815881045387152noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5414957110325310952.post-57018507046185389052017-04-16T07:45:15.760-07:002017-04-16T07:45:15.760-07:00We have two TV's and receivers on the inverter...We have two TV's and receivers on the inverter but try to remember to unplug the one we are not using as they still draw power when they are off. I know our charging station draws a bit even with nothing plugged into it so I have to remember to keep it turned off at night as well. We watched 2 or 3 hours of TV last night and batteries were at 12.57 this morning, not bad. Having sunshine until about 6:00 yesterday really helped. We will have to stay in sunny climates!Crofthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17634815881045387152noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5414957110325310952.post-73045438685522727362017-04-15T22:22:36.221-07:002017-04-15T22:22:36.221-07:00I have a 35' class A motor home and run 2 Walm...I have a 35' class A motor home and run 2 Walmart 12 volt deep cycle batteries. We have the old tube TV and satellite dish, no solar. We can watch 2-3 hrs of TV run lights and use the heater conservatively threw the night. I found the more I use shore power and little dry camping the batteries fail quickly. When we do mostly dry camping I get a longer life out of the batteries. Though just talked today about adding solar. BTW I've had better service out of Walmart Batteries than other better brands. Also just changed all the lights to LED's.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02646164436304235857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5414957110325310952.post-52764706515472074892017-04-15T18:13:37.980-07:002017-04-15T18:13:37.980-07:00The showers at Wildhorse are in the same building ...The showers at Wildhorse are in the same building as the registration. I used the showers when we camped there about 10 days ago and they were quite nice. I also used the fitness center in the hotel. If I could convince Norma to spend three or four nights boondocking instead of staying in $40 a night RV parks it would pay for the batteries. Offering her all the TV and lights she wants might do the trick.Crofthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17634815881045387152noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5414957110325310952.post-58792044943406100132017-04-15T16:52:09.545-07:002017-04-15T16:52:09.545-07:00We have four 6 volt batteries and 240 watts of sol...We have four 6 volt batteries and 240 watts of solar. Even when we draw them down to 12.2 volts, if we have full sun the next day they are charged up by 1pm or so. So I'd agree with you, you need two more 6 volt batteries. But it's hard to justify because you don't boondock enough to make it worth your while.Kevin Readhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05795747155781311686noreply@blogger.com
