Well, my local British Columbia Provincial Election is over, the Good Guys won so now we divert our attention back to the elephant in the room, the US Election! Recent polls are holding surprisingly steady and are showing the following projections:
Biden's chance of winning the Presidency is 86%
The Democrats chance of winning The Senate is 73%
The Democrats chance of retaining The House is 96%
This is called the Perfect Trifecta and is the goal but it will not happen if you do not vote! Vote early if possible but if you have to vote on November 3 then plan your day, plan your transportation and plan on spending a long time there, maybe all day. Take a friend, water, a sandwich and maybe a camp chair. Efforts are going to be made to keep you from voting. Polling places may be moved at the last second, roads and transportation may be disrupted, there may be goons put in place to attempt to intimidate you. Don't let them stop you! You have the hard won Right to Vote so don't give it up! Don't let the bastards win!
Already counted my vote...or so they say.Let Freedom Ring.
ReplyDeleteLooks like I found my very own troll.
DeleteYes you did! This spammer has found me and has kept me busy deleting his crap. He should get a life!
Delete"Don't let the bastards win" That's what you think of half the the voting public in the US . Nice
ReplyDeleteYou have hit the nail right on the head! Another word for them is "idiots",
DeleteRather be a socialist than a conservative communist.
ReplyDeleteThe contest is between people who want the cocoon of a police state or those willing to tolerate the free riders in a democratic socialist system . Trump is an old time facist, Biden is a democrat with a small d who is more than willing to let a lot of free riders soak the system. I fear the police state and its corrosive effect of our liberty. The choice is between feeding and housing a certain number of able people who do not want to work while taking care of those who can't and a police state where the top 0.001 % run everything with the help of our security system. A watershed moment .
ReplyDeleteIn an old school way of looking at political theory, Biden is the conservative who wants to keep things as they are and Trump is the radical who wants to tear the system apart. We have a choice next week. I'm voting to let the slackers be and reign in the police. We'll all be better for it.
Dislike Trump, can't stand Biden. So, living in CA I did the most sensible thing and voted for Kanye.
ReplyDeleteSeriously though if you live in a Red state or Blue state your vote isn't all that important. In a swing state I would have voted for one of them instead but I couldn't bring myself to vote for someone I dislike. It's not a case of "lessor of the 2 evils". It's a case of "we need to implement term limits for all of them".
Biden has been in the US Political scene for over 40 years. Giving him 4 or even 8 years as the President is NOT going to solve America's problems. It's only going to give the lazy ones more time to live of the hard workers. Putting Trump in for another 4 years, will piss of the freeloaders off for sure, but Trump has gotten more done in 4 years than Biden has gotten done in over 40 years. TRUMP FOR THE WIN!!!!
ReplyDeleteI was going to chastise you, however Dee did a great rebuttal of your argument.
DeleteYankeeflyer, I'm sure you can think of more to add to the list starting with number 11; maybe add the 545 orphan immigrant children in the US who can't be reunited with their parents because Trump can't find the paperwork when they were separated from their family; or the wall being built out of our military budget--hey, Donald, we're still waiting for the check from Mexico to pay for the wall--how's that going?
DeleteDee. You do realize many of those people weren't "actually" parents right? They were paid to get the kids into the US. And please don't lose sight of who started this. It was an Obama program all the way.
DeleteOnce again the truth is somewhere between. Not a Trumpie, not a Biden supporter. I support American and base on the Boboluski stuff Biden supported Biden big time. He sold us out to the chinese. You don't hear about it because the lame stream media is not going to kill their golden goose, yet.
To say that, "Trump has gotten more done in 4 years" you have to (as Dee pointed out) only count what he has destroyed, As far as progressive improvements, he is batting zero.
DeleteMiddle Class American, "... but Trump (as President) has gotten more done in 4 years than Biden (as Senator or Vice President) has gotten done in over 40 years." My Grandmother use to say "keep it simple, stupid!" If you make a statement or conclusion as a topic sentence, be ready to "simply" make a list to back it up.
ReplyDeleteWe are talking about priorities as follows:
1) A federal plan for mitigation of Covid-19 until we get a vaccine. (That is what this election is all about.)
2) Resigning from the World Health Organization (WHO).
3) Tearing down the US Center for Disease Control (CDC) by resignations and firings left and right--brilliant infectious disease scientists.
4) The declining health of our national security by wrecking our security agencies, military, and our top position in NATO with our (supposedly) allies. No efforts by the White House in shoring up those alliances through good diplomacy.
5) Resignation from the TPP (Transpacific Partnership)--a group of our allies who challenge China as a large global trade group.
6) Resignation from the World Climate Accords for our planet's clean water and air.
7) Trump is also considering resigning from the United Nations and having the UN move out of the US.
8) Playing patty-cake with Russia, North Korea, China (however, he recently has done an about-face on China).
9) Screwing with our farmers (Have you been to the grocery lately?). We as taxpayers are keeping them afloat while Trump is failing at the trade agreement with China.
10) In 2016, Trump promised all the coal miners they would get their jobs back after he had all the coal mines reopened. He forgot to tell them that most large labor-intensive industries had moved on to less polluting fuels like natural gas.
Oh, I could keep going, but I think you get my drift. We don't want charm, a snake-oil salesman, entertainer, movie star, or tv personality. We want someone who cares and hires the right people as advisors. Personally Trump is in a lot of trouble both civilly and criminally. At one of his rallies, he said "If you don't vote for me, I may have to leave the country." I really don't think he said that in jest.
P.S. I forgot to mention that the Communist People's Republic of China has now stepped into the World Health Organization (WHO) to fill the hole we left when Trump resigned, and China essentially said, boys and girls, whatever WHO needs, Communist China is here for you.
ReplyDeleteMy grandmother used to say "You can't fix ignorance, no use trying to". You should do some serious research of the "Old Countries" to which our ancestors ESCAPED from to come to America. But, as grandma used to say "Can't fix ignorance". Have a nice day.
