Finally, Plans

We have finally negotiated a date for leaving! We will catch the 10:30 AM ferry from Victoria to Port Angeles on Sunday, November 13. The plan is still to head down the Oregon Coast but that final determination will be made after a weather check the first night in Washington State.

I just bought Travel Medical Insurance and got sticker shock. It is $500 more than last year and will cost us $4260. Ouch. $25 Canadian per day!

Anyway, it is for almost six months and is less than a trip to Europe (or almost anywhere)

Further updates and the saga of our adventure will be posted fairly often.

  2. Yup every year we get a bit older and the price goes up, but like you said is for 6 months, cheaper than a two week trip to Europe.

  3. Yes insurance cost is almost becoming a deal breaker. We have paid for it for 15 years and only had one claim, when Norma broke her hip in Tucson. That was expensive as the had to charter a jet to fly us home but we have more than repaid them over the years.

  4. We need Obamacare for travellers!

  5. Ouch at the cost of your insurance, but then what else would you spend your money on. Enjoy the journey.

  6. Not knowing anything about Canadian travel health insurance, can you take a large deductible and reduce the rates, we do that for our house and car. Have you looked at Medivac insurance as a side coverage? Just a thought. Al
