Wanderlust!

The endless paperwork is nearing an end, summer is drawing to a close and I want to get out of town! The Oregon Coast has always been a favorite destination although I have usually been in too big a hurry to explore it on the way south and on the way back north, well.... weather.

The motorhome is almost ready to go and I am planning a trip down the Washington / Oregon Coast later this month. A leisurely pace with lots of time to explore small seaside towns, coffee shops and seafood! Staying with my usual method of travel I have no itinerary, no reservations and no final destination. Maybe as far as California, maybe not My moves will occur whenever I tire of a place or think I have seen all there is to see. Travel days will be short and my feet will spend more time "up" than on the pedals. I will be gone four to five weeks.

I am going to have a good time! Did I mention I am going to eat a lot of crab dipped in garlic and butter? And Oregon's Pinot Noir?

    1. The coast is not that far away Bill! I prefer the west coast though. Meet you in Seaside, Oregon?

  7. Oregon is fabulous. Must stops -Lincoln City for the Fish Peddler, Boiler Bay - humpbacks feeding, Depoe Bay -whaling station, Beverly Beach State Park -treed , South Beach State park -open, Gold Beach -take the 6 hour jet boat up the Rogue River -guaranteed to put a smile on your face. You should try to get down to Burlington Campground in California- Camping in the Giant Redwoods!!

  10. Sounds like the perfect adventure. You certainly need a break. If you can stop in Cannon Beach ( there is an RV park here) and walk the beach. See the puffins, enjoy the clam chowder and visit some wineries.

  11. You certainly chose a gorgeous route! I moved to San Miguel from Washington state and previously lived in Oregon, so have driven the coast many times. Always find it beautiful, meditative, and seductive, no matter the weather. In fact I think I prefer it to be rainy when I'm on the Oregon coast. Delightful. Will be eager to see and hear about your adventures. Safe travels and happy trails!
