Somehow "Mike" knows both our first names and is relentless in his calls to our house phone trying to sell me Viagra from "USA Pharmacy". The calls start about 8:00 AM and continue three or four times every single day until about 9:00 at night. He will not take no for an answer and being rude has no effect either.
Norma's standard answer is, "He is 72 years old and doesn't need it". I have no idea what she means by that.

Subscribe to Call Block. It deters anyone calling in on a Toll Free #. The Do Not Call List only seems to work on legit companies
ReplyDeleteI can't stand telemarketers...
ReplyDeleteWe no longer answer the phone and just let the answering machine pick it up. It was a revelation one night after running to the phone, only to have some jackass waste my time selling something. If it is so important they can leave a message, especially now where they trick you by having a local number appear making you think it is someone you know.
ReplyDeleteThe phone use to be a great tool, now it is a nuisance.

ReplyDeleteBah! Funniest thing I read all day. I just about choked on the mouthful of beer I was trying to swallow...
:) I still have no idea!
DeleteSoooooo very funny!
DeleteI'll agree with Kevin; it was hysterical. And the way I read it was Norma suggesting to the caller that you'd probably still find it easy to kick his ass too.

Where we subscribe to Tancho's philosophy on answering the phone. Only if we know who it is.
It says you must still be going strong!
ReplyDeleteOr that there is no hope!
DeleteI keep getting calls from someone who says they are from Canadian Pharmacy! Maybe we can swap! ;)
ReplyDeleteMaybe save someone a long distance bill anyway.
