Norma, what will we do with your flower garden? Some of the perennials are thinking about restarting and I am not able to look after them or willing to put in the 20 or 30 hours a week you spent on them. I will keep your roses and bushes going, they are low maintenance but the flowers may just have to go. I will have this conversation with Kelly and Rick.

Whatever you decide she will understand.
ReplyDeleteTime will tell what you do with the garden and everything else.
ReplyDeleteJust don't do any major changes in the first year.
Be Safe!
It's about time.
I bet there is someone in your area who loves to garden but does not have one. Maybe has to live in an apartment or something. Someone who would love to maintain that and get their hands in the dirt.......just a thought.
ReplyDeleteYou might have something there. A couple of years ago someone from the condo next door mentioned how much he missed having a garden to look after.
DeleteI've been pondering your dilemma all morning. As a perennial gardener of 40 some odd years I know you are faced with some difficult choices. The plants will look after themselves but..so will the weeds and grass that will invade their space. Weeding and edging are the priority that you'd need help with. Small fiddly plants could go first and big robust ones like the phlox and beebalm I see in the picture will be fine. Then as Norma would say "just get on with it and do what needs to be done!" Remove the hard stuff and leave the easy. When I leave my garden for the last time (either feet first) or when we sell I'll never return. Tough times for you.❤
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are just one of many things I've wondered how you are getting on with. It is a change and change sometimes goes slowly.
