A gun dealer in Detroit has taken advantage of the recent free advertising and is offering the same Bushmaster assault rifle that was used to murder those twenty children on sale online for $989.99, marked down from $1274.88. Free shipping.
UPDATE: They have pulled the ad. This ad was mentioned on other Blogs as well so I imagine they got a flood of email. Mine included.
The Best Drive On This Trip So Far

Great, now more nutcases will go murder innocent children.
ReplyDeleteThank you Republican party for making this possible.
Idiocy! Sure glad I live in a non-gun culture Canada.
ReplyDeleteWe are hurting in the US. Not sure if we're even capable of making the right decision. Wish us the best and hopefully, idiots like the guy in Detroit are fewer and fewer. But, don't kick us while we are down like the commenter above.
ReplyDeleteIF you don't think the US is safe, stay away. We open our arms to those outside our country to visit, we just don't need to be knocked back down while we are trying as a nation to stand tall.
I don't think any of us here are anti-American, Pat. I am half American myself. It is the cowboy, gun culture that we as well as many Americans are realizing does not fit into modern society. The people who blindly repeat the NRA chants, "Guns don't kill", "if everyone was armed..." need a slap of reality and if by pointing out the faults of the gun culture we can encourage politicians to stand up against the NRA or save the life of even one child, it is worth it. Many Americans, and I think you are one, understand the idiocy of the laws today. We are on your side as you try to change them.
DeleteGuns and violence (and war) are promoted by those who profit from such enterprises. Consider the movie, music, and video game industries...the NRA...the US Congress. The Detroit dealer is a businessman. For hunting, and self-defense everyone needs an assault rifle, numerous high capacity ammo clips, and perhaps a 1,000 rounds of ammo. And a small arsenal of other weapons.
ReplyDeleteGun laws need to be changed, but it goes far beyond that.
Blood is on the hands of gun manufacturers and gun dealers. We live in a sick society. Glenn said it best.
ReplyDeleteCroft, sorry for using your blog to vent. I don't believe the commenter meant any malice. I'm sorry to them as well.
ReplyDeleteNo problem Pat. These are trying times. I always appreciate your comments.
DeleteI use the Blog to vent all the time ;)
