End of the day! Got a lot done but I do hold Brooks back. My 72 year old legs just do not move as fast any more. Basic framing done!

This Blog was created to chronicle our travels in Mexico but has since morphed into something else entirely. Our periodic Mexico travels are still in here but if that is why you came here, you will have to dig a little to get to it. Try searching the Blog Archive in the right hand column.
Do you have to worry about codes and construction permits in Canada? I wondered that about Brook's buildings on his place as well. A lot of that stuff would be subject to setbacks and such here, especially as close to the water as you are.
ReplyDeleteYes, but... They are more concerned with things like additions to the actual living quarters. Out buildings and decks are usually ignored. But in general you are correct, we could have paid for permits and put up with inspections.
DeleteI was just advised that as long as the deck is not "attached" to the house, it is exempt from permit requirements. I am going with that answer! I can take out about ten long screws and it is no longer "attached" and would easily stand on it's own.
DeleteSaw that framing today as we were driving by on our way to a feed at Dick's Fish and Chips. We had made a quick trip up from Errington looking at a couple of properties.
ReplyDeleteTaking shape pretty good.
