We will not make it all the way to the border for two reasons. Samana Santa is over today so the roads will be busy and worse, the border crossing will be a madhouse as Mexican Americans return to the USA after the holiday. Also, for a lot of reasons, we have a policy of only crossing borders in the morning.
There is a large Pemex along the route between Monterrey and Laredo where there is a store and restaurant. That is where we will spend the night. Laredo, Texas tomorrow!

ReplyDeleteOnly the weather will determine that Rae. If it is warmer along the border, we will go that way. We will spend a couple of nights in casa Blanca state Park in Laredo and sort it out.
DeleteWe also always plan our border crossings as early in the morning as possible. That way the bad guys are still sleeping! Of course you would have actually been better crossing today, because the bad guys would be in church. :-)

ReplyDeleteSounds like a reasonable plan to hold out on border crossing till morning. Makes all kinds of sense to us too. Wishing you a seamless crossing back into the US of A.
