The Grown-Ups In The Room

Thank goodness the grown-ups on both sides of the US Government stepped up to the plate today and put an end to this madness. A few right wing crazies managed to manipulate the US into a very serious situation that had started to spread to other countries, including Canada. The Canadian market follows lockstep with the Dow Jones and was approaching a disaster. It looks like, after having stepped right up to the edge and looking over, reason has returned. The people of the world are the winners today and the "Canadian", Ted Cruz is the loser. I can only hope that Cruz is successful in his attempt to be the Teapublican nominee for President in the next election.

  2. The radical Republicans seem to hate America and are willing to destroy our economy to prevent working class people from having "Affordable Health Care" - crazy!

  3. Be careful what you wish for, buddy. Politics is such a strange beast that he could well be elected.

    1. You are right Rod. Remember, Hitler was elected in Germany and it took his country 50 years to climb out of the hole he dug.

    2. Just the thought give me the shivers. Mind you they have a history of electing wingnuts, unlike Canada. Oops, I forgot about MacKenzie King.

    3. This article is an interesting read on the Cruz phenomenon. I do like how US politicians don't all follow the company line. This Republican is some pissed at the Cruzites.

  5. GOP numbers have tanked, Obamacare popularity has gone up, but other than that this has been a great strategy for the 'Banana Republicans' and Ted 'Calgary' Cruz. Sure hope he tries it again in 3 months or so.

  6. I'm only going to chime in here once and point out that this whole thing took two sides and the Dims came out badly as well as Oblama. He's got a 37% approval now and everyone in congress is down around 5%

Yes the lamestream media made most people think it was all the Pubbys fault but it there was plenty of blame to go around.

    1. Neither side is blameless but the GOP is responsible for allowing themselves to be controlled by a small faction of tea party supporters. Whether you support them or not Don, they do not represent the majority of Americans.

  7. One thing is for sure, Don is not a Democrat, another is that the Democrats get more votes on election day.
