Heading Home

My week is over and it is time to go! The airport shuttle is picking me up here in Wasaga Beach at 2:00 PM and taking me to Barrie where I transfer to a van for the trip to the airport. My flight does not leave until 7:30 AM tomorrow and I spend the night (or most of it) in an airport hotel. There is some question as to whether the shuttle will drop me off at the hotel or not but if not, I will take the hotel shuttle from the airport to the hotel. In any case, I will be at the hotel by 5 or 6, find a place to eat and get to bed early as I will have to up by 5:00 to be at the airport by 6:00.

My niece Susan will drive my sister home later today, after I leave. I left Don's car here, dirty but full of gas so thanks a lot for the loan of the car for the week Don and Riitta, it made things much easier. I know Don will be silently cursing me as he washes and waxes it.

It has been a great visit, not long enough but it never is. The weather has been great, not always sunny but always warm. Most people do not realize it but southern Ontario is at the same latitude as northern California! The Canadian border makes a big dip into the US here.

So, a little more basking in the sun and then I leave. Life is Good!

  2. Have a safe flight. Never ceases to amaze me why most of the darned flights are so freakin' early in the morning. Oy.

    1. I don't think I have had a decent departure time since I worked and flew in corporate jets!

  3. Thanks for letting me know where the car keys are, Croft, just in case I ever get up that way and need a car!!! That's the kind of thing my wife "screams at me" about when I put it in my blog!!

Have a safe trip back to our Island Paradise!

We'll have to get together somewhere at Timmy's (or is that now Burger King) for a coffee before we all fly south for the winter.

    1. You are right Rick. Anyway, Don and Riitta came to say goodbye and to pick up their car so there is no need to tell everyone where the keys are.

      Timmy's sounds good!

  5. Glad you had a great time. Post lots of pictures when you get back.

I was surprised that the southern end of Ontario is about the same latitude as the very top of California. I would have thought it was higher. As it is, there's only a tiny, tip of Ontario that drops below the 42nd.

    1. There is not much of Canada that far south, just enough for bragging rights!

  6. Good trip back to Campbell River! You should feel a lot less humidity once back.
