Tired

We are parked in Hudson Oaks, Texas, in an RV friendly Walmart on I-20 just west of Fort Worth, Texas. We just maneuvered through the Dallas / Fort Worth rush hour traffic and decided we were way too tired to continue to Abilene so we pulled off. I guess the thunderstorm kept me awake last night longer than I thought it did.

The weather is nice here, high 70's and blue sky. If it holds through tomorrow we may look for an RV park to spend a couple of days to work on our tans. Maybe near Abilene or Midland where the temps are promising to hit the low 80's.

All for now, time to find something to eat and crash.

    1. You're right, Peter. I tend to push myself in these situations and have been luck so far. I have to learn to sit back and smell the roses. ;)

  2. I thought you were only in Georgia a couple of days ago?? What's the rush? Taxes aren't due until the end of April! :-)

  3. We hear ya Croft! Head to the warmth - then - slow down. Worked for us - sort of. Nothing wrong with Texas. Sigh. Miss Texas. Not sure of your route - we love Fredricksburg and Boerne - did you go there last year? Can't remember. Or - the 180 would take you to Carlsbad Caverns…. If for some reason you find yourselves in Brownfield - there is a free municipal campground - water and electric with dump station. You can stay 5 days and there is free wifi. Roswell would be west of there. Bla bla bla… I guess being off the road now I miss the planning!

    1. Hi Teresa, we are going to follow I-20 as far as Tucson and then up to Las Vesas. That should keep us in the warm weather as long as possible.

  5. We'll be doing some Walmarts for sure. It really is convenient and easy. If you have solar, battery or a built in generator you are good to go. No unhooking or setup. We like Texas and look forward to our way out Hwy 90. Say hi to you know who.

    1. They are not a substitute for an RV park with hookups if you are staying somewhere for more than a night. But when you just want a place to pull over and sleep, they are perfect.

  6. Carol Ann and I are in Abilene, about 125 miles west of you on I-20. We are heading home (Nacogdoches) tomorrow so will probably cross paths.

  7. Gotta love the warmer weather, we did the Walmart Midland Texas last December. Pulled in 80f , next morning 16f freezing rain and sleet, stranded for three nights, got to know that Walmart pretty good.
We will be heading east on 10 then 20 tomorrow, to El Paso then Walmart at Midland again, probably pass you on the road, travel safe.
