Norma and her friend Nancy spent most of the day yesterday planting the new flower garden. Beau was here for a while to do the heavy work like moving the boulders around and digging some holes but Norma and Nancy were at it for several hours.
They got most of it done (there are still several left to plant) but that is for tomorrow. When they finished, Nancy phoned Garth and he and the two girls came over to pick her up and stopped for snacks and a couple of drinks while Garth and I watched the hockey game. A nice evening.
My back is not fully repaired yet, the chiropractor says it will be another ten weeks, but I have cut off my visits to him. They are $42 each and I can feel improvement every day so I am going to see how it goes.
Here is Norma's new garden (not quite finished).

yep I am not a big fan of Chiropractors... They are mostly lady and gents who couldn't get into medical school...
ReplyDeleteChiropractors work for some people and not for others. I am one of the ones they usually work for. If you go to a doctor with a bad back you usually walk away with a bottle of pills, something I like to stay away from.
DeleteVery nice! I am rather put upon, though, that all the rocks I hauled to that very spot in 2009 to build the low retaining wall are gone. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou would not recognize the area now Rae. The landslide took everything and dumped it in the sunken garden.
DeleteGood Luck with you chiropractor adjustments. For many years mine has corrected problems that the medical doctors could not even diagnose, and taking a pill has not fixed.
ReplyDeleteGardens looking good.
Nice garden works. Your back issues? You know how to govern your activities till you are healed. I have never, ever been to a chiropractor and I hope to not ever need one.
ReplyDeleteI am taking it very easy and making sure that when I do have to lift something, I do it slowly and carefully. I shall survive!
DeleteLove the healthy smokebush in the corner. Big fan of eccentric plants.
ReplyDeleteIt was knocked around by the slide and had some roots exposed and damaged. We are not sure it will survive but it looks pretty good so far. We are hoping.
