MecoLoco RV Park, Cancun

This is the only RV park in or near Cancun. It is about ten KM from town, run by a very friendly English speaking Mexican. Water pressure is good (for Mexico) and electricity seems good. It looks like there has been a lot of rewiring recently with the new wires laying on the ground. I would recoil in horror if I saw this in Canada or the USA but here, "it works, doesn’t it?" Price is $300 pesos a night and we got a discount as returning customers. There is free WIFI but it is not working at the moment. Maybe tomorrow...

The RV Park

Here is our park, the Yax Ha. We are on the back (top) wall about 40 feet from the pool.

Palenque

We checked into the Maya Bell RV Park at about four this afternoon and paid for three nights at a reasonable $170 pesos ($15 CAN) a night. It is exactly as I remember it from last year, a step back into the sixties! An international crowd with the majority being backpackers from around the world. The smell of pot permeates the air and the guitar music from the restaurant is a mix of Santo and Johnny and Cuban guitar.

We heard the Howling Monkeys off in the distance for a short time. I hope they return to lull me to sleep. Life is Good!
