They
are doing it as much on the cheap as they can. A fisherman friend
traded a few days use of their spare work truck to haul his boat and mobile home across
Vancouver Island for 100+ pounds of salmon and a liquor salesman friend is donating four cases of hard liquor including a very expensive bottle of single malt for "special" people (me
and Linda Lee's dad). Norma and our neighbour are going to stuff and
bake the salmon and a butcher friend of Brooks' is donating a cooked and
sliced baron of beef. Vegies and salads will be done on site before
dinner as each room has a kitchen. Lots to do and it is driving Norma a
little nuts but it will all go well.
We have Sierrah, our youngest granddaughter (12), here for the week right now and are enjoying our time with her. She and I just returned from a walk down the beach out front collecting driftwood pieces for use as wedding table centers. Brooks will be up on the weekend to pick her up and to install the fence between us and the condo next door. There has been an uneasy peace between us for several years and the fence should help the situation, even though they will not pay for their half of it. Long story, best told over a glass of wine.

What does Norma stuff the salmon with?
ReplyDeleteShe uses the same stuffing mix as people use for turkey. She likes Paxo brand.
ReplyDeleteSounds like it will a lovely fun and relaxing wedding. tell Norma not to overdo it.....one step at a time.
ReplyDeleteContessa - look who's talking about "overdoing it"!
ReplyDeleteThe food plan for the wedding sounds terrific - and at a good price too! Nothing like a few trades here and there.
ReplyDeleteA fence is always a good idea I've found.
