This Blog was created to chronicle our travels in Mexico but has since morphed into something else entirely. Our periodic Mexico travels are still in here but if that is why you came here, you will have to dig a little to get to it. Try searching the Blog Archive in the right hand column.
Nice rose, and an interesting bird. Do you know what it is?
ReplyDeleteI don't know what bird that is. They are around the suit quite a bit.
DeleteA really nice rose. We have the same problem with rabbits going after the flowering plants. One year they chewed the plum bushes down to sticks, bark and all.
ReplyDeleteI think rabbits might be a little harder to deal with than deer.
DeleteIt is a Northern Flicker Woodpecker, quite common in BC.
ReplyDeleteNorma's rose makes me miss my rose garden. Guess I can't quite have everything.
Thanks Contessa, someone told us we had Flickers but I did not know which they were.
ReplyDeleteFYI, both deer and rabbit are quite tasty... Get a gun!
ReplyDeleteWe had such beautiful rose gardens in our house, but now more do we have the house. Suzie loves Roses
ReplyDeleteBobbex is really the answer to deer problems. I watched a doe walk all through my garden here in Courtenay yesterday and she stopped and sniffed every flower and bush but didn't take one bite. I had put a very light spray on the garden about 3 weeks ago and it is still working really well. Norma's roses are beautiful!
