Weather!

We all have weather but ours is mostly rain. I have a few things I want to do with the motorhome before we leave, like add another TV cable between the front TV and the electrical bin but it does not look like I will get the chance.

"Someone" left the furnace on and the propane tank is now bone dry. I cannot check the water heater, stove or fridge (propane setting) until I fill the tank and that means waiting until I buy insurance so I can move the rig. I don't want to do this too soon as I will only buy 6 months insurance and we are not leaving until November 3 - 5.

Yes, we are leaving on the third or so. Norma has an appointment on the first and then we get ready! We will then head down to Palm Springs area and see how the weather goes. We will move wherever we have to to find or avoid weather but the plans are to stay put more this year to save on gas and to take advantage of monthly RV park rates. We went a little nuts last year expense wise!

  2. We did the same last year, staying at least a month in one place to get monthly rates and save on fuel costs. If one watches the electric use, it seems to be a bit more reasonable. Hopefully we'll be heading out first week or so in January after daughter has her baby.

    1. I hope you get down south sooner rather than later Bill!

    2. We'll keep an eye on where you are and maybe meet up somewhere.

    3. Now THAT would be worth a side trip!

  3. Can't call a propane truck to come and fill the tank? Of course that would be the logical thing to do but there's probably some rule against that in Canada...

    1. Last time I checked they had a minimum delivery that was way more than we could hold. I will call them again.

    2. They will deliver. Thanks Kevin.

    3. Nice!

I'm actually surprised, because they won't do that in Ontario anymore. Ontario now has the most strict propane regulations in the world ever since that blow up in Toronto in 2008.

  4. With our memberships we can move around all year and average only about $8.00 a night for camping fees. Something we love to do. We tried staying for a month a few times in some places but get that hitch itch after a week or two. Enjoy your winter and hope we can meet up again.

    1. I like the idea George but was turned off by the cost of the memberships and the short maximum stays.

  5. The rainy season is definitely approaching but it sounds like you'll miss most of it by heading south in early November. We're planning on mid-December to get down to Palm Springs before Christmas.

    1. I do hear the call but we have been looking forward to a year with little travel. Not sure how it will work out. Like George (above) I feel hitch itch quite frequently.
