There is a chill in the air here in Mesa. I woke up on and off during the night to pull the covers up and when we got up at 7:00 it was downright cold! We had an electric heater but it was not working properly. I think the thermal switch that prevents overheating was malfunctioning and shutting the heater down far too early. I did a little research on line and went over to Target Stores to buy a Lasko unit. It required a bit of assembly but seems to be working well. It has a nice fan and pushes warm air throughout the RV.
This is our 4th or 5th heater and so far is the best one. It even has a remote so I can turn it on and off at night! Pure luxury!
Our neighbor/friend Shadowmoss came over for a visit this afternoon and we made tentative plans for an outing on the weekend. It was nice to see her.
I am watching Canada's Grey Cup game on TV. Edmonton vs. Ottawa. I am cheering for my old hometown Edmonton but so far it is not all that exciting.

Cooler yes, but still better than up north.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you found yourself a nice new heater.
George is right... colder (and snow) up north. Waiting for a break so we can get the heck outta here.
ReplyDeleteIt hit 82 here yesterday in our travels across Alabama. The locals told me that it is a little warmer than normal. They expect it to be a little cooler on Tuesday. I was cheering for Ottawa.
ReplyDeleteIt is also cool in Yuma, and the Grey Cup Game ended well ... Yay Edmonton!
ReplyDeleteWe use two Lasko heaters in our RV. They have worked very well for us, these past five years.
ReplyDeleteI was rooting for the 'Eskies' and the team rallied for a Grey Cup win.
Two heaters would be much better and means I do not have to be continually moving it around.
DeleteCongrats on the Eskimos ;-)
ReplyDeleteCroft, we are in Tucson and also in the market for a new heater. It is cold here too, and our furnace is not functioning! Is the fan on the Lasko noisy? That is one thing that really bothers me. Thanks for all your postings. I love your blog and your joie de vivre.

It is probably the quietent one we have had Jean. You can hear it but it is not intrusive. You might want to look at one of the oil filled radiator type which are completely silent but might need a small fan to circulate the air.
DeleteHappy that you have found a spot that works for the Crofts. Would like the Crofts take on the Baja, but, will wait for your opinion. Love Mexico, your blog, very informative!
