We Made It!
Crossing the border at the Victoria ferry dock was easy as pie. How much did you spend? $1435. Any liquor? Yes, three full 750ml bottles and several partial bottles. Welcome back to Canada. That was it.
We drove the Malahat Highway to Brooks and went out for fish and chips with them, came home and watched some of the Edmonton Oilers hockey game but I went to bed before it was over.
We will spend today here and head home tomorrow. Our vacation is over! :)
Croft, why so expensive? That's about US$1,076. Is it mostly the fare for the ferry using the car, round trip? You and Brooks live in the same country, for goodness sake.
ReplyDeleteNo, no. That is the total amount of goods we brought home. A new laptop, TV, microwave, two new six volt batteries, etc... The ferry cost about $275 US. Bad enough!
DeleteSorry, Croft! I knew you were already home, but then remembered you were visiting Brooks and LindaLee; just got sequence of events skewed, and that's easy while sipping a margarita.
DeleteP.S. By the way, when you have a minute, Google American Airlines news; now, that passenger coming to her aid is a REAL man, certainly not the captain standing in the cockpit doorway watching it all go down.
Was one of those a full bottle of whiskey? ;)
ReplyDeleteA full bottle of Bourbon Don! :)
DeleteVacation is over? Never!
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it Safe and Sound but I agree with Rod, The vacation is never over.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
It's about time.
Sitting still in Catfish Junction. AT&T phone works here and I can hotspot it to the computer so no worries. As you said a lovely, quiet place to stop. Heading to Soap Lake, Washington tomorrow. Left the ice cold behind in Jackpot...brrrr! Glad to hear you are home.
ReplyDeleteIt is a neat spot isn't it?
