I checked back and the last muffler and pipe was done at Che Mofles in Villa Corona in central Mexico back in 2008 for $66 US. It lasted until now. Here is Che's shop in Villa Corona. Life is so much simpler (and cheaper!) in Mexico.

If you have good reliable transportation it is with more to you than you can get for it. The newer ones are much more expensive to repair too.

DeleteThese older Japanese cars are indistructable. That's why you see so many Nissan taxis in Mexico... Keep fixing that car, she owes you nothing...
ReplyDeleteYou're right. It has cost us $100 per month for the past year but if we go back to the beginning it probably averages out to $20 a month. Peanuts!
DeleteThat $20 was an exaggeration. I just checked and my total costs over the last ten years has been $4900 or $41 per month. This includes repairs, paint job, oil changes, tires, mufflers, car washes, everything except gas and insurance.
