Problem Solved

We started fresh with the Starchoice this morning. We found that the skew settings given by the DishPointer site were WAY off. they called for 112 while other sites called for 123. This is a huge difference. We reset the skew, moved the dish a few feet, re-leveled and started again. It took a few minutes but suddenly we had a decent signal of 51. It was still in the "yellow" range but good enough. We even get the HD channels which we were not getting in NOLA where the skew was also set wrong.

It is bright and sunny today but COLD with a high of 43F forcast. We may put our city exploration off until tomorrow which is going to be a little warmer.

Well, I am off to make banana pancakes. Want some?

  1. Yes, it's cold here too. It was finally a little sunny when I woke up so I went outside in a turtleneck and sweat pants - the wind just went through in about 2 minutes. My temp gauge said 47 but that's really pushing it - it felt more like 31!

  2. One of the reasons we go to Mexico. You simply can't count on decent weather anywhere in the U.S. at this time of year, other than the Florida Keys.

But you know all of this... :-)

    1. We know. We thought, "This winter might be different". It's not.

    2. 73º in Salome, AZ today and forecast for the same the rest of the week. Evenings chilly at 45º, but not complaining. Guess we're not anywhere.

  4. We are looking at Panama City and the Forgotten Coast where temps are hitting the mid 60's. Nothing like 73 but better than we have been getting.

  5. This is the nicest December we've ever experienced in Mazatlan in the five years we've been coming. The temps are warm and so is the water. Swimming every day....hope it holds on!
